- The Hotel's origins -

The origins of this splendid residence date back to the 19th century, when it was a favorite haunt of writer Maupassant. It was Claude Valentin, accompanied by his wife, who decided to breathe new life into this place steeped in history by turning it into a luxury hotel. Over the years, the Manoir au Lac has expanded and modernized, reflecting the timeless elegance of its time while preserving its old-world charm.

In 1997, the hotel already had seven rooms, but a first extension was completed, adding a further seven rooms, a garage and a sumptuous indoor swimming pool. In 2020, a new phase of work transformed the space once again, increasing capacity to five suites and 14 rooms. The restaurant, a true jewel, seems to float like a boat on the lake, offering guests a breathtaking view of the sparkling waters of the "Pearl of the Vosges".

Nestled in verdant parkland, Le Manoir au Lac appeals to both nature lovers and travelers in search of a chic, elegant and friendly retreat. Open all year round, the Manoir offers the ideal getaway to recharge your batteries, with its wellness area featuring a large indoor swimming pool and relaxation area.

The 18 rooms and suites overlooking Lac de Gérardmer in the Manoir and the newly renovated Villa des Grands Bois each have their own personality, recalling the visits of famous visitors such as Guy de Maupassant, who came to the region for a spa treatment in 1890.

Le Manoir au Lac not only offers exceptional accommodation, but also a refined gastronomic experience featuring local produce in its restaurant overlooking the lake.

This exceptional place, steeped in history and charm, embodies the French art of living and appeals to a discerning clientele in search of an authentic experience. Le Manoir au Lac is much more than just a hotel; it is a reflection of the craftsmanship and timeless refinement that make it a benchmark for hotel professionals.

In this way, Le Manoir au Lac continues the tradition of excellence and sophistication that has characterized the region for centuries, offering visitors an enchanted interlude in the heart of the Vosges, where history and comfort come together in harmony.
