The heart of the Vosges mountains is tamed and appreciated with the seasons.
In winter, you will enjoy a family cross-country ski tour around Lake Lispach, unforgettable both for its beauty of its setting and for the crystalline colors and the peaty appearance of the lake. Touring skis can be replaced by electric bikes to welcome spring with shades of azure blue that characterizes so much this season, and the arrival of daffodils.
Spring and summer will allow many hikes around the Hohneck to discover the view over Alsace, and the magic of Lake Schiessrothried, or Altenweiher, simply with family or friends. You can during a moment of relaxation on a boat or a windsurfing board for the more athletic on Lake Gérardmer, or to discover the many waterfalls.
September will mark the start of the mushroom season for foodies, and for athletes, a great show with triathletes who will set off for a triple effort to enjoy the last rays of the summer sun. The deer slab will be shared in the heart of the forest on a hike or by electric bike to tame the wildlife without noise.
The fall will herald the preparation of skis for the first snowfall in order to share unforgettable experiences of biathlon, cross-country skiing or downhill, or simply snowshoeing or sledding.
Skiing: Like cycling, skiing is combined in the plural as the practices offered are numerous. You will enjoy a ski descent on the slopes of Mauselaine, Chaume Francis or Bresse to discover the Hohneck under the snow. With friends with a mountain guide, you will enjoy snowshoeing or ski touring for the more athletic. With family or friends, you can learn about biathlon in Hautes Vannes or Lispach with mountain professionals. You can train in the summer for wheel skiing / biathlon to improve and or compete with our best Vosges Champions in the discipline. The Vosges cross-country ski area will welcome you in several valleys between the Hautes Vannes and the Chajoux valley where you can hike with your family and enjoy the landscapes.
Hiking: The Vosges massif will amaze you with its diversity of hiking trails and its diversity between the different altitudes of the massif. A hike can be combined with a discovery of chamois at the foot of the Hohneck. Mountain enthusiasts can enjoy the trails from the Markstein to the Frankenthal nature reserve and go to the Lac Blanc with a stop at the refuge du Sotré.
Cycling: Cycling can be done on the road and/or on the trails. The Vosges trail is mapped and marked all along the forest of St Jacques. You can take advantage of the electric bicycles of the Moustache brand, located in Thaon les Vosges, which will allow you to discover the tour of Lake Gérardmer with little or no effort. With a guide, you can discover the massif, and learn all about the fauna and flora. All the paths and routes can be enjoyed with the Moustache bikes, available for hire at the hotel.
